Southern Surf offers only the highest-quality rental wetsuits, available for a small fee if needed for our Surf Tours. We provide top-brand wetsuits designed for comfort, durability, and flexibility—perfect for tackling even the coldest waters. Experience premium neoprene construction for maximum performance in every wave.

Soft- Top surfboards are ideal for beginners and intermediate surfers.
Unlike traditional fiberglass boards, soft-top surfboards feature a foam core that minimizes the risk of injury during falls.
R400 Per day.
Rent a 7ft, 8ft, or 9ft soft-top surfboard.
R100 delivery and pickup.

We specialise in both flat water and ocean SUP training. Hermanus is one of the best places to learn to SUP. We are also situated at Grotto Beach, a few kms from Hermanus. You can enjoy some great views whilst learning the basics of balancing on a SUP and paddling.
With extensive experience in South African waters, we offer tailored courses for surfers of all levels—whether you're a beginner taking your first steps on a board, an intermediate surfer looking to refine your technique, or an experienced rider aiming to master more advanced skills.

My boys aged 7 and 8 had 3 x 1 hour lessons with Eddie during our holiday, and both said the highlight of the whole three weeks were the Surf lessons with Eddie. Even when the water was very cold (11 degrees) he kept them motivated and super keen. He was patient, encouraging and very responsive in communicating prior to and during arranging the lessons. I would highly recommend him, my boys can't wait to be back by the sea to have more lessons.
